The first WESET preparation seminar took place in Monastir (Tunisia) on December 21st, 2017.
The seminar was attended by 63 students and academics from Tunisian, Egyptian and European universities who discussed the integration of the WESET modules in the existing academic programs, and the laboratory needs.
After an invited presentation on “Model-based Control Design for Ancillary Services of Wind Farms, specific sessions were held on “Renewable Energy in Master’s programmes” and “Wind Systems”. The WESET project was also presented by its academic coordinator with a special focus on the contents of the modules that will be delivered as one of the outputs of the project.
There were fruitful discussions on how to ensure the growing of Wind Energy sector in Tunisia, how to strengthen the links of existing Masters in the field of renewable energies with local industries, and the importance of developing local wind energy industry.
