Training of Trainers

Training at UVA for Academic Staff of Egypt, Tunisia and Jordan

 

The WESET Staff training week has been held at the University of Valladolid from March 9 -13, 2020.

The training was attended by academics and students from Tunisia, Egypt and Jordan. During the five-day meeting, presentations of institutions and Wind Energy Centres were carried out, along with technical presentations.

 

The staff visited laboratories of the Institute of Sustainable Processes and of the Industrial Engineering School. At the final day, there were some discussions regarding involvement in WESET Wind Energy Centres and huge progress was made for future activities and bilateral meetings.

 

Training course of “Fundamentals of Wind Energy”

Centre for Renewable Energy – Wind Division announces a training course of “Fundamentals of Wind Energy” on January, 22nd and 23rd

The course will cover the following topics:
1- Introduction to wind energy and wind turbines.
2- Wind micro siting
4- Wind farm planning
5- Wind energy economics
6- Aerodynamics of wind turbines
7- Control of wind turbines
8- Electrical aspects of wind turbines

The course will be held at the BUE-A-213.

Training of AASTMT academic staff at the University of Valladolid

The University of Valladolid hosted academic staff from Arabic Academy of Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) in July 4 – 12, 2019, with the aim of undertaking training within the framework of the WESET project. The main activities carried out were related to the use of the technological laboratories for master programmes focused on Wind Engineering.

Training in Aalborg University

As part of the WESET Project activities, AAU-ET have successfully delivered the planned 3 weeks of the training programme which is under WP3.

15 faculty member participants from both Tunisia and Egypt Universities have participated in the weeks programme.

In week 1 a 4 ECTs PhD Course organized by Prof. Zhe Chen, and supervised by Energy Technology Department Doctoral School were given to introduce intensively the wind energy generation and integration.

In week 2, participants were enrolled into an industrial training program that is delivered by DNV.GL’s Senior Engineers at ET department.

The 3rd week is delivered by sharing industrial experience and knowledge from wind energy leading companies Vestas and Dong Energy. Experience from a service provider and from operator point of views were given. In addition, an industrial site visits to the blades factory of Siemens Gamesa in the city of Aalborg and the refurbished wind-mills factory of Wind-Tech located in Herning was as well part of week 3.
